Celebrating completing the Evergreen State!

Ebey’s Landing NHR, Fort Vancouver NHS, Klondike Gold Rush NHP, Lake Chelan NRA, Lake Roosevelt NRA, Mount Rainier NP, North Cascades NP, Olympic NP, Ross Lake NRA, San Juan Island NHP and Whitman Mission NHS are all above. Affiliate Wing Luke Museum is in Seattle, which is part of both the Mountains to Sound Greenway NHA and the Maritime Washington NHA. Parts of the Lewis & Clark, Nez Perce and Manhattan Project NHPs and sections of the Ice Age Floods NGT, Lewis & Clark NHT and Oregon NHT are in Washington too.

Rhode Island in Photos

[Sorry for not following the alternate Saturdays posting schedule this week, but Rhode Island is such a small state that it slipped through my rigorous editing process. Enjoy the bonus state photo summary!]

The three parks above—Blackstone River Valley, Roger Williams and Touro Synagogue—are all in the Ocean State, as is part of the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route. The Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor extends from Providence to Worcester in Massachusetts, and includes Slater’s Mill (pictured) in Pawtucket.

Illinois in Photos

The Prairie State is home to 2 new parks, New Philadelphia NHS and Springfield 1908 Race Riot NM, as well as Pullman NHP and Lincoln Home NHS, all shown above. Part of the Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley NM is in Illinois, though public access to the church is limited. Several national trails also pass through the southern tip of the state, including Lewis & Clark, Mormon Pioneer, and the Trail of Tears. There are also NPS related sites, Bronzeville NHA, Chicago Portage and the IL & MI Canal NHA, as well as—below—the WHS Cahokia Mounds and three Frank Lloyd Wright designs: Oak Park, Robie and Unity Temple. Enjoy!
